The Curtis McDuffie Memorial Scholarship
Curtis Jackson was a young man who lived a short but impactful life. His dream was to become an auto mechanic, and through hard work and dedication, he achieved that goal. Curtis was known for his humility, kindness, and unwavering faith. He was a devoted member of YD4C (Youth Desperate for Christ) and served faithfully in his church. His heart of gold and commitment to his craft left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. In honor of his legacy, this scholarship seeks to support students who, like Curtis, are determined to pursue a trade and make a difference in their communities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to and plan to attend a trade school or community college to pursue a trade.
- The student must provide proof of enrollment at an accredited community college or vocational/trade school. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Applicants should demonstrate dedication to learning a trade and pursuing a career in skilled labor.
Additional criteria include:
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 (weighted) or higher
- Involvement in community service or extracurricular activities
- A demonstrated commitment to their chosen trade or vocational field through coursework, internships, or personal projects

- High school transcript or diploma
- Proof of enrollment at a community college or trade school
- A personal statement (300 words or less) describing why you chose your trade or vocational path and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or employer
